What Kind of Music Do You Listen To?

Today I was asked the following questions regarding music…

“What kind of music do you listen to? Like on a daily basis what to you enjoy. You favorite band? Favorite song? What do you play in the background when you want music but you still want to concentrate on what ever it is you are doing? Guilty pleasure music that you only listen to alone?”

Music has been a big part of my life since I was a small child.  I started singing in a choir when I was 8, and continued to do so throughout high school.  I played the viola for many years, and occasionally am still talked into playing it during a Christmas ensemble.  Music has and always will be an important part of my life.

“What kind of music do you listen to?” – The honest answer to this question changes on daily basis.  If you look at my Pandora account I have 62 “stations” set up.  These stations include all kinds of genres including Broadway, Rock, Country, Classic Rock, Jazz, Soundtracks, and more.

What I listen to on a day to day basis depends on my mood.  Sometimes I will listen to weeks of country, and then decide I am sick of it, and move on to Classic Rock.  Sometimes I just put my Pandora on shuffle and listen to everything.

“You favorite band?” – I don’t really have one, but Bernadette Peters is one of my all time favorite artists.

“What do you play in the background when you want music but you still want to concentrate on what ever it is you are doing?” – If I want music playing in the background I will put on my soundtracks station and listen to that.  I grew up listening to soundtracks, so its very calming to me.

“Guilty pleasure music that you only listen to alone?” – For a long long time, when I was running a lot I listened to a lot of Britney Spears.  Don’t judge me!
