I had to put a ban on anyone buying me books this year for Christmas. This was a hard decision to make, because I really do enjoy getting, and collecting new books. However my list of unread books has been growing and growing over the years. I have known all month that I wanted to focus on reading as many books as I could in 2014, and then tonight something happened/
This evening I was reading a blog post by John Acuff. In it he challenged everyone to clear a shelf in their home and fill it with every book read in 2014. I thought this was a wonderful idea, and plan to do so, starting immediately.
How many unread books do you have? Do you think you could fill a shelf by the end of the year? Join us in the #EmptyShelf challenge, and lets see how many books we can read in one year!
Oops.
I didn’t know about the ban….
One of my favorite reading challenges that I have been doing for years now is the To Be Read Challenge hosted by Roof Beam Reader. It is for the most part an easy challenge to follow the rules are simple. If you are interested here is a link to the post for 2014, Oh and there is a drawing for a prize at the end of the year if you make the goal. http://roofbeamreader.com/2013/11/27/announcing-the-2014-tbr-pile-challenge/
